How can I be
a reader?
Before each semester, we'll send an e-mail to the MFA list-serv announcing sign-ups. E-mail candidyak@gmail.com with your name, genre, year & any requests for a specific date. Be quick. The spots usually fill up by the end of the day, or early the next day.
Generally, watch the list-serv. This is how we do business and communicate changes.
Do you need anything from
me before the reading?
Yes.
Where are the
readings held?
This semester, The Gold Room & the Bistro.

Are there ever
readings held off campus?
We try. The problem is, we don't have a budget. Ususally places charge for an event like ours. We're trying our best to figure out a cool arrangement.
I'm
a poet and I want to read fiction, can I do that?
You can do whatever you want, but tell us if you'll be doing something different. We'd like to feature someone from each genre for each reading. In the event
we can't find someone from a particular genre to read, we'll open it
up to others. That being said, if you want to do some weird performance art, show a film, or read an essay. Great. a
What should
I read?
Whatever you want. Though, please warn us if you'll be overly offensive. Sometimes people's grandmas come to these things.
How long do
I have to read?
15-ish minutes.
We're not going to kick you off the stage, but people tend to get restless after awhile. It's in your own best interest to be interesing and courteous. Plus, the sooner these things end, the sooner we can get to the after-party.
